Hi
Once again I get to let you all know I'm still alive. Woohoo! So here's an update. I'm trying to do this thing so that I'll update you on my previous P-day, so that I can just send this out early on wednesday and then not worry about it. So, onward!
We went on another hike. This one is on a trail called Cistern Trail. There's two main parts to it. The first part went to a lake. A small one but it was pretty. Some of the locals were fishing there. They caught a couple of small ones that day I heard. Elder Sutherland caught a lizard and held it half the hike. Named it Timohthy. We also went to a small creek where there was a lot of baby frogs! Mom said she likes those better than the salamanders for some reason.
Dad said some of you will like this part. So the second part of the hike went to a filming spot for the show M*A*S*H. There was a whole bunch of rusted vehicles and a couple of plaques with pictures explaining the history. I haven't watched it but one of my residents from when I was working at the Haven watched it frequently. It was pretty cool.
We had Zone conference on Thursday! Exciting. I decided I like it. At the first bit of it we were asked to inspect our vehicles. I had no idea how do do any of this. Sister Taylor opened the hatch and asked me if I can identify any of it. Just the dipstick. Everything else was lost on me. We were supposed to also check coolant levels and windshield fluid I believe. Those I think were lost on me but I might get it eventually. Hopefully.
Then we had discussions with our zone about teaching when we find. It was pretty insightful. Something someone said was that we have to give something the spirit can testify of. Which is true. I think a lot of missionaries go up to people and ask them if they're interested without giving them something to be interested in, which is kind of silly if you think about it. And they gave us tacos for lunch so that was a bounus.
My friends are doing pretty well. Rose is keeping commitments and our basketball friend is becoming really good friends with one of the ward members. Haven't able to get in contact with some of the other ones but we're trying.
Service! So, on Saturday we did a lot of manual labor. In the morning we helped someone move dirt around because it was piling up on their chain link fence and their property is on a hill. It'll just keep piling up unless someone does something about it. So that's what we did. We shoveled up dirt and hauled buckets of it up the hill to be distributed elsewhere. I was sore the next day to say the least. We're glad we had the Elders helping us. Elder Burkhart for some reason decided to do this is his nice clothes, and he found it was not a good idea. So, don't wear suits while using shovels. Feels like that should be common sense. We also helped the people at the Stagecoach museum set up and take down stuff for an event they were having. We set it up on Friday. Pretty much moved stuff around and then played with bubbles. Then on Saturday we did the same thing in reverse. So, soreness all around. Feels good to know that we have done something good though.
Think that's it! Thank you for reading this far. See ya later.
