Very Bad Donkey

Well hello Everyone. Thank you for the emails I've been getting! I really appreciate it. Although I may not respond to them I Love reading them. It truly makes my day so thank you.

The night after I finished my last email, we'll, the next day didn't go so great. We wanted to try this taco place after our hike called Bad Donkey Tacos (the word wasn't donkey. The other one). We just heard it was good so we tried it. It was delicious but the night after, everyone in my district got food poisoning. Spent the whole night on the toilet. I think that might have been God telling us to quit eating at places that have a curse word on the door. So, no more Bad Donkey Tacos for us we decided.

In mine and Sister Taylor's appartment our power went out the whole day. Luckily our food was still good by the end of it but I guess that thursday just wasn't a day of luck. Then Sister Taylor got put in Facebook jail. The cherry on the sundae. She couldn't message anyone for a few days. It's hilarious now though so don't take pity.

Well, I'm a real missionary now. I got to experience what it's like to get yelled at by someone who doesn't like our church. I'm just going to say nothing made sense. Didn't let us speak, so we just walked away and told him to have a good day. It really makes me wonder tough, sir, you just yelled at a couple of young girls in your pajamas. I think something needs to change here.

Exchanges! So on Monday we had exchanges. Basically where the Sister Training Leaders arrange for us so swap companions for a day. So I had to leave sister Taylor for a bit to try and be a big girl missionary in Oxnard. I went with my Trainer's Trainer Sister Ashdown! Exciting! She's a hoot. It was pretty fun, but I've decided Oxnard isn't my favorite place. The area outside the apartment gates smelled like weed, and there were some really sketchy areas that made my back go straight and my hair stand on end. Then I heard some freaky stories that I don't want to live. So, I'm glad I'm back in Newbury for the time being but I'm not going to jinx myself here and say I hope I don't go to Oxnard because knowing God's sense of humor, I likely will. *knocks on wood*

So, overall though I've been so good. There's some people we've been teaching and it's been really exciting. We have our friend Rose, who's a sweet older lady. She's working towards baptism sometime this summer. We also got a message from our bishop saying this guy wanted to be baptized! I thought he was a member but honestly, if anyone deserves the gift of the Holy Ghost, it's him. I see him every sunday and he's very helpful around the community. Sweet guy. We're also still having lessons with our basketball dude. He's great. I have an uplifting story this time! So one of our members invited him to a hike after fellowshipping a lesson and we asked how it went. They had a wonderful gospel conversation and even taught him how to pray. And he said the closing prayer on our lesson on tuesday and it was wonderful! It's little things like that I've found that give me a lot of joy.

Thank you all for reading this. I do love all the email replies I get. If there's anyone who wants to be on this list let me know. And district 15-G, I'm loving the emails I do get from you all. Keep them coming please! Even though my P-day is weird, I love on monday how I get some of your guy's emails and it sparks some joy in my heart. I guess you too Elder Reynolds.

- With love, Sister Reynolds
