I'm Moving!

Well hello everyone! Welcome back to my weekly email! My Preparation day is on a different day again because it's transfers, again. A lot has happened this week, so I will just jump right into it.

Transfer news!

So, I found out this morning that I am being transfered to Santa Maria! Apparently there's a lot of Spanish-speaking people and also where the Mestecko-speaking people live. Yes, we do have three languages in this mission. I'm excited to see what it's like there! Kind of sad to leave Newbury park, but I know it'll be good for me and the area. A change is always good. It'll be hard to get to know the people in the new area, but I'm sure it'll happen over time. I'm just not great with names!

Horses!

So, our Zone Leaders joined us for service at Ride On. They said they loved it. They originally lived out in the country before coming to serve their missions so they thought it was a fun little taste of home. I am going to miss serving there for sure.

The horse in the picture is Fiz! I have talked about her before, but the Zone Leaders got some funny pictures, so you all get to see her again.

Trunk or Treat!

On Saturday our stake hosted a Trunk or Treat. We wanted to do something for it, so we got the cheapest costume pieces from Goodwill and went as a Witch and a Cat. It was kind of fun. Us Missionaries had our own trunk. We were with the other missionaries in the stake. The trio of sisters were based off the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pokus, and the Elders were Hogwarts students. None of us were too fancy, because we're not supposed to be, but it was fun nevertheless.

We had a few of our friends show up and a few non-members too! We had been inviting people to it for the last week and a half from the trunk of our car, so we think it worked! It had a good turn out!

Miracle Michael!

So, we had someone new show up to church! His name is Michael, and he is eager to learn more about the church! We had noticed him after Sacrament meeting started, and we planned to speak to him after, but then one of our members beat us to it! He set up an appointment to have a discussion after church and everything! The ward is on top of it. I think in this ward at least, we'd have a lot more converts if we could just get people to come to church!

Departing Testimony Zoom!

So, at the end of every transfer the Mission has a zoom and has the missionaries that are departing bear their testimony and share their experiences. Two sisters I know are going home! It's crazy. It's weird to think that I have been here for a good chunk of their mission, and they're going home now. One of them was in my zone for almost my entire mission except this last transfer!

I've just decided I'll stay in denial. That won't happen to me. Nope. That would be too weird.

Halloween!

So, Tuesday was Halloween. Honestly, to missionaries, a holiday like this one is kind of a normal day, except we were told to go inside after 6pm. We also were told to attend a zoom meeting, but because of the non-existent service in our appartment we missed everything but the closing prayer! Fortunately we were told we didn't miss much. The Mission President and a couple of the mission leaders bore their testimonies and told a couple of stories, so fortunately we didn't miss anything that's essential to know! I won't miss the lack of service in Newbury.

So that's all for this week! Next week you'll hear from me in Santa Maria! My spanish skills by the end of that area will be on point! Anywhoo, I travel tomorrow, so wish me luck in packing and riding over! Goodbye Rollie Pollie infestation and bad cell service!
