Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all are having a fantastic time celebrating. You know, Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Just the fact that we are rejoicing over the Atonement of Jesus Christ is alway something to feed the spirit. The Crucifixion and suffering in Gethsemane are awful to imagine, don’t get me wrong, but remembering the fact that Jesus did it is amazing. He could have said no. He really could have! But he went through it for each of us so we can get back to our Father in heaven.

There’s a couple of songs I’ve been thinking about today that I’d recommend tuning in for. They’re about the atonement of course, so they’re more solemn songs but they bring the spirit into the ears. I’m sure most of you know the primary song Gethsemane, it always brings warmth to the soul as you listen to the words saying how Jesus loves me, and so he went willingly to suffer for all my pain and sorrow and sins. It’s one of my all-time favorites. There’s also  At the Cross by Chris Tomlin. I really like this one because it reminds me of how much we really do owe all to Him. It’s hopeful and has an awesome melody. There’s also Noel by Lauren Daigle. Now, this one’s technically a Christmas song, but if you put the Resurrection in where you ‘come and see what God has done’ it can be Easter themed. It also brings the spirit in. Feel free to let me know what you think of these songs if you like them! I’d like to know! Anyways, onto the actual events of this week!

First Ever Temple Shift!!
I’m sure this is what you all have been waiting for. I got to do my first ever temple shift on Thursday! I worked in the baptistery. It’s a lot more simple than it sounds, although the Baptistry is probably the easiest job there is XD. And the best part is that I didn’t have to feel stupid and like the new girl because we all were! Apparently more than half of the other workers haven’t worked in the Temple before either! For sure a bonus! They also said they’re going to get me an official name badge for the temple next week, so I’ll have two different kinds! My Missionary one and a Temple one! How exciting is that! Also, turns out Jody Rich works there too! If you’re reading this, Hi! I’m looking forward to serving with you in the future!

Fun Easter Activities!
So, our family tradition is usually to go up to our Great Grandma’s farm for an Easter egg hunt but it was cold and my Grandparents (who are also service missionaries) are helping with the Manti Temple Open House. We would have went there but it was supposed to be really cold and the lines horrendous. Maybe if it dies down we’ll go. We didn’t do those but we did some fun things here in St. George instead! On Friday after my shift at Deseret Industries we went to a pottery painting place, and I finished a project that I had started there two years ago! I’ll include a picture of it. It’s a dragon, and I had bought it at least two years ago but never finished. Thankfully, I got it finished up in the three hours we were there. They’re going to fire it and I’ll pick it up on Wednesday most likely. Crossing my fingers that when it’s finished it’ll look as good!
Then on Saturday we went to breakfast together and went swimming! Then watched the Arthur the king movie. It’s about a dog. And yes, that means everyone cried. Dad says it’s “Worse than Ol’Yeller!”.

Anyways, that’s it for this week! Have a great week and a happy Easter! Love you all and so does Jesus!
