Tender Mercies Galore This Week!

Image
Well Hello everyone! I’m back, writing this email once again. As I have said in the title of this email, it has been a fantastic week for me! So many tender mercies and little things that God has sent my way this week! The joy is truly immeasurable! I have probably jinxed myself and something terrible is probably lurking around the corner but I’ll worry about that later.  Tuesday Temple Trip!  On Tuesdays I go to the Family Search Center for my first assignment, and this time I have spent time gathering names for baptisms. I want to go with my family again sometime soon, and I hopefully want to go to the Red Cliffs temple. It has truly taken a special place in my heart. We didn’t go there as a district this week but instead to the St George temple. I still love that temple but I’ve found I get lost easier in that one. I had a silly thought that since I was set apart in the Red Cliffs temple, I haven’t gotten lost in there. All my companions know that my sense of direction is g...

King Benjamin Rules!!

Image
I had this email all ready and I tried to send it early yesterday, but this morning Mom told me she didn’t get it. I checked it and it turns out that it didn’t send and that it only saved about half of the email. So here I am re-writing it and hoping it sends this time.  King Benjamin! Me and my Companion Sister Amy study together nearly every day. We try to have some of the Book of Mormon in our studies simply because it brings the spirit like nothing else. We originally started where Come Follow Me is but we are a bit faster. We are in Mosiah and we have been reading about King Benjamin and his message to the Nephites. What stood out to me for some reason was the change of heart that occurred in the people. They were overcome with the spirit and it caused them to no longer have the desire to sin, but to ‘do good continually’. I can only hope that we also can be inspired in such a way to where the worldly things we are surrounded by will no longer be something that drags us down. ...

Eclipses At Zone Conference!

Image
Hi everyone! It’s Sunday again, so you get to hear from me! Woohoo! Or at least I hope that’s what you’re thinking. Or maybe it’s more along the lines of ‘oh shoot, it’s her again’ but hey, you subscribed to my email list and haven’t told me you want out! You’re all stuck with me!  Zone Conference!  So on Monday instead of our usual District Council we had Zone Conference with all the other service missionaries! It’s still crazy to me that we have enough service missionaries to have our own zone. We talked about finding miracles in the day-to-day. To seek and expect them. Our mission is praying for 1008 of them, so if you want to pray for them with us, feel free! I really like how President Staples phrased it all. The spirit was there and a peaceful feeling was there in that chapel.  Eclipse!! During Zone Conference there was an Eclipse! And we went outside and saw it during lunch. It was really cool! I’ve got some pictures. My pictures couldn’t get the crescent so I borr...

I Love General Conference

Image
Well hi everyone! I’m back writing this email. It’s been quite a week! Or at least I think so. I know I’ve looked forward to General Conference for the last week and It surely didn’t disappoint! Also got some good service in and some things to say. I’ll get into that now.  The DeMille’s Challenge!! On Monday I went over to District council as usual. Just realized I never have talked about it before. Well, it’s almost the same as a district council meeting as a Proselyting missionary, except we don’t talk about friends we’re teaching because, well, that isn’t under our jurisdiction. We fill up the time instead with a longer discussion. And something interesting happened! So, our Service Mission Leaders, Elder and Sister DeMille, issued us a challenge. They’re going to host us a BBQ is everyone does their Personal Study every day this week. I know it sounds simple enough but it isn’t as easy as it was for me when I was in California. But I managed to do it. I just hope everyone else ...
