I Love General Conference

Well hi everyone! I’m back writing this email. It’s been quite a week! Or at least I think so. I know I’ve looked forward to General Conference for the last week and It surely didn’t disappoint! Also got some good service in and some things to say. I’ll get into that now.

The DeMille’s Challenge!!

On Monday I went over to District council as usual. Just realized I never have talked about it before. Well, it’s almost the same as a district council meeting as a Proselyting missionary, except we don’t talk about friends we’re teaching because, well, that isn’t under our jurisdiction. We fill up the time instead with a longer discussion. And something interesting happened! So, our Service Mission Leaders, Elder and Sister DeMille, issued us a challenge. They’re going to host us a BBQ is everyone does their Personal Study every day this week. I know it sounds simple enough but it isn’t as easy as it was for me when I was in California. But I managed to do it. I just hope everyone else did too because a BBQ is too good to not accept.

Temple Tuesdays and Thursdays!!

I just realized both of my temple days start with T’s. How fitting! XD

On Tuesdays I am planning to get myself an appointment to go to the Temple as a patron. And this week I did some Initiatories! I’ve taken my family to do baptisms a couple of times since I got back and I’ve slowly taken the female names to do some of their work. The space for that in the Red Cliffs Temple was lovely! It wasn’t in the Open House tour so this was the first time I’ve seen it. But it was pretty obvious that the ladies helping me with them were new and we had a laugh. I actually take a lot of comfort in that because I’m still learning. I went again to the Baptistry on Thursday as an Ordinance Worker. And spent most of the time handing out towels. I love it there! There are some finer things I’m still learning like I didn’t know that they have a squeegee mop thing for the floor and where they keep the towels. Last week I was on the Men’s side handing out towels and they keep them in the dressing room. I know where they are in the Ladies side though!

Tax Return!!

So, even though I haven’t ’worked’ in the past year, I got a tax return! Just a little thing that made me happy. I guess the government didn’t forget about me! I’m also just glad I was able to get it this year because last year my employer typed my SSID wrong and then they flagged me for potential identity theft. No tax return last year. Messy business. I’m glad it’s smoothed out now though! That’s for sure!

Jesus Picture Context!

A little context for one of the pictures I’m putting in. Me and my companion Sister Amy were talking about the Atonement and grace. It came up somewhere how sometimes we feel inadequate or incapable but I guess in a moment where my words decided to be backed by the spirit, I said that No one is inadequate. Because we have Jesus Christ. And He makes us Enough. I think the Spirit had me say that for the both of us to be honest, because while I don’t regret coming home, I do hold a bit of a grudge to the circumstances that made me come home. It’s sometimes hard, even though the Lord keeps showing me that this is the place I need to be. I hope that made sense.

I hope you all enjoyed conference! I love how there was seemingly a focus on Temple Work and Serving your neighbor! At least that’s what I got out of it as a Service Missionary LOL! The lord really does make things work out for us individually. Did you all notice a theme? If so, let me know what the theme of General Conference was for YOU! Anyways, stay safe and I’ll write again next week! And I’ll talk about what stood out to me in conference then, so I can pull out quotes from the source rather than from my memory! See you then!
