Ty’s Home!!

That was the best part of the week. My little brother came home and is with us once again. It’s crazy to me that he was gone for two full years! It seems like it was not long ago that me and Mom were crying over his departure. But also a lot has happened at the same time. It’s a little jarring, like a dream. Kind of feels like he’s going to be gone again on the morrow. Missions seem to do that to you. Seriously though, he describes what it’s like to be back and I get nostalgia about what it was like for me in January. At least I’m still a missionary! HA! And as for the match of Reese vs Tysen, it has yet to be decided. She seems to like him well enough though so we’ll see if the epic battle continues!

Family Search Center!
This week’s service location is the Family Search center. Most service missionaries who serve in the Family Search center usually do this instead of the Outreach program. Probably because the Outreach people think Sisters are better at it than the Elders. Anywho, usually there’s a bunch of us service missionaries in the center and we are kind of there to help whoever needs it with their family history work. We help people use the fancy scanners and stuff as well as with their Family Search account. A couple of weeks ago I helped a man recover his church account so he can take names to the temple. That, for example is a lot of what we do. Oftentimes we don’t have people that need/want help though, so in those times I work on my own family tree or do indexing. I’ll talk about Indexing later but for my family tree I attach and straighten out records and names and dates. Those things help verify that these were real people. That way they are eligible to have their names go to the temple so they can be sealed to the rest of the family! It’s truly amazing, but also feels like a never-ending jigsaw puzzle sometimes.

Well everyone, I have no idea if I’m going to write an email next week because I’m going on a trip with my family to Cancun Mexico. I’ll for sure write one if I don’t though! Anywho, until next time!
