6 Weeks Left!
Howdy! Welcome back to my weekly email! I’m trying to live the rest of my mission to the fullest because my ‘death’ date is precisely six weeks from now. Part of that is that I’m trying to finish the Book of Mormon by Christmas and highlighting everything that tells me something about our savior. Think of it as his Christmas gift. It was a challenge given to us by our mission president and I’ve been really liking it so far. It’s about six pages a day until the end of the year. Well, I tend to read it in more like 15 page chunks every few days but it’s something.
Compliments from the chef!
Just a funny little tidbit here I guess. After we were done with some things at the soup kitchen, there wasn’t anything for me to do. As a Sister, they don’t want me taking names since I’m the past there’s been some creepos. And we had servers already dishing people up so I was sitting there for a while. I don’t typically like to be on my phone during assignments so I got out my sketchbook and drew a goofy little dragon. The kitchen director Annie really liked it. It was kind of interesting getting compliments from the chef instead of the other way around haha! And one of the elders named him Stuart. I’ll include a picture of it.
Red Cliffs Temple is closed
So I wasn’t able to go there as an ordinance worker this week. It was kind of a bummer because I always enjoy the atmosphere. But I got to spend Mom’s birthday with her so I guess that works out too. And yes, I think it was a good birthday. Me, her and Ave watched our show together and snacked on M&M’s.
General Conference is Next Week!!
I am so thrilled to have more talks to listen to. It’s going to be a spiritual feast! And honestly, if you don’t get your fill that’s on you so join in. Please.
On a fun note, when I came back from church today there was a praying mantis by our garage door. It reminded me of Halloween in the parking lot of Walmart last year with Sister Martinsen. Well, she’s now Sister Jackson but that’s besides the point. A praying mantis jumped out from somewhere in front of our car and scared her. I’m sure I included a picture of it last year. I’ll include one of this one plus Riggs making a weird face. Enjoy!
