Happy Labor Day!!
Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. It’s Labor Day weekend and I know at least some of you are off having adventures somewhere. If so, I hope you’re having fun!
I’m sure you’ve heard that President Nielson’s birthday is coming soon. I’m super excited for it honestly. They’re having a broadcast and everything! I’m going to have to make something for the occasion since I did last year. I made Birthday Fajitas last year for me and my comp. Since I’m going to be here at home I can make a dessert? Either way it’s going to be fun!
Soup kitchen sugar rush
Since I have a picture of the cookies I made at the soup kitchen, I’ll give yall some context. Our manager lady wants us to do something nice for the people who make the food so we made sugar cookies that Sister Meidell found off the internet. The thing is though, it seems that Elders don’t know how to bake.
The frosting we made turned out salty because one of them added a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon. It wasn’t the worst thing ever like the one time I mistook a recipe to say salt instead of baking soda. Those were much more nasty.
But having salty frosting is just plain weird. The people liked it okay though strangely enough. I thought the whole thing was kind of funny. Probably because I had to taste test that frosting multiple times to see if we can take out some of the salt flavor and I think that did funny things to my brain. Having a Sugar Rush is an interesting sensation to say the least.
Twice the temple shifts!
I did my usual temple shift on Thursday and I subbed for Sister Mangleson on Saturday. I think the lord thought I needed it since I had to miss my usual district temple trip because I had physical therapy for my knee. It was great! I love the temple. The Saturday shift is great and I learned more about how they fold stuff in the laundry department. That’s where I was most of the time. I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten a lot of it though because there’s just so many methods to folding all of the different temple things. Although if you learn it once it’s easier to learn it again so that’s fine.
Well, that’s that for this time! Love you all and I’ll write again next week.
