I’ve Got Exactly 8 Of These Left…

Mom told me when she reminded me to write this that I’ve only got like 8 left and it turns out she’s right. In 8 weeks it will be November 10th. Or otherwise known as the day of my release. I remember in my proselyting mission I had a countdown comparing how many days it’s been since I left and how many days I had left. I don’t have that countdown anymore but it’s crazy to think that large number that was in front of me is now behind. Guess this means if a few weeks I should start planning my funeral.


Combined Birthday dinner for Me and Mom

We went to Sakura for both of our birthdays. I know mine was last month but me and mom were chatting and we thought if we wanted to do something nice our birthdays are close enough to get away with sharing. Hers is next week FYI so be sure to wish her a happy birthday! She won’t let me forget so I’m not letting you all either. 

Anyways, we got some nice food and they even gave us a slice of cheesecake with a flower candle on top of it. After they lit it though, we could not figure out how to turn it off. Good thing they aren’t our problem now.


Also happy birthday to our prophet President Russel M Nelson! That transitions into my next thing pretty nicely actually. 


Primary’s funny

Mom had the primary lesson and I wanted to share a funny tidbit. So we talked about how Samuel was a prophet and how he climbed a wall to teach the word to the people. He was super passionate. Then mom said that our prophet is the same way and one of the kids laughed and said ‘well now I’m imagining President Nielsen on top of a tall wall’. We thought that was pretty funny. On another note though, it’s amazing how we have a prophet with us now and how they tell us all about how we can make it back to God’s presence. Samuel prophesied of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ within the next few years and gave them all the things they should look out for so they would know. It’s unfortunate that a lot of the Nephites didn’t listen when he told them they needed to repent. Well, some did but that’s not the point. 

Speaking of, General Conference is coming soon. It’s a good time to take the time and listen to the revelation that we will need this time. So let’s try to pay close attention and not fall asleep everyone!

More At The Temple Open House!!

Hello everyone! I’m back again with another email. I’m sending this on time today! Woohoo!! This one’s going to be short but I think it is something I should share nevertheless.  Open House!  I’ve really enjoyed my time at the Red Cliffs Temple so far. I get to help these people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to walk around the temple at all. It makes me feel like I have an important job even though most of the time I just write numbers on a clipboard. I got to take a few people in myself and I love how they become silent in reverent wonder at the beauty of it all. It really tells me that the spirit is definitely there and I can feel it too!  Pushing Grandpa I helped Grandpa Reynolds in a wheelchair. I’m not a jerk I swear. XD That was a fun experience that I was able to look at it with my family. I’ve been through the tour a bunch of times but It’s different when you’re with your family. I Love Conference

Hi! As I’m sure you know, General Conference was this weekend. I’ve been so excited about it and it certainly didn't disappoint. Everyone did an excellent job and the spirit was present. I loved them all. I really need to look back and study them again. I forgot who did what ones but there was a couple I really liked in the Saturday sessions about being peacemakers. How despite the world around us we can still show the love of god. Actually, I think one of them was from Elder Oaks. He did fantastic.  I also loved that Brad Wilcox spoke this afternoon. He is one of my favorite speakers. He also did one of the most listened to BYU devotionals ‘his grace is sufficient’. It’s so good and so was the talk he did today. I love how he said you can’t be a lifeguard if you look like all the other swimmers. Inspiring.  I’d like to share a little tender mercy that was a couple of weeks ago. Hi Again Everyone!

I am back at it again this week! With yet another email. I know it’s late, but I almost forgot and I was saved by Mom threatening to beat me with a wet noodle. So I didn’t forget and as I’m writing this I’m keeping an eye on all the pasta. And Mom. She’s looking at me very ominously across the table.  Zone Conference!  As I mentioned last week, I had Zone Conference! On Monday we met at basically in the same time and same place as District Council, but it was longer and with more people. I can now say I have officially met my new Mission president! President Staples and his wife are sweet. I got a picture with them.  Temple Trips! And no, not just to the Red Cliffs one. Me and my Companion Sister Amy did some Initiatories in the newly Re-dedicated St. George temple. They remodeled it like they had it originally in the pioneer days, and they used rich colors and beautiful curtains. I love it!
