I Love Conference

Hi! As I’m sure you know, General Conference was this weekend. I’ve been so excited about it and it certainly didn't disappoint. Everyone did an excellent job and the spirit was present. I loved them all. I really need to look back and study them again. I forgot who did what ones but there was a couple I really liked in the Saturday sessions about being peacemakers. How despite the world around us we can still show the love of god. Actually, I think one of them was from Elder Oaks. He did fantastic.

I also loved that Brad Wilcox spoke this afternoon. He is one of my favorite speakers. He also did one of the most listened to BYU devotionals ‘his grace is sufficient’. It’s so good and so was the talk he did today. I love how he said you can’t be a lifeguard if you look like all the other swimmers. Inspiring.

I’d like to share a little tender mercy that was a couple of weeks ago. I was going to the temple with my district in the St George temple. We were doing an endowment session. I got a name that has been waiting for a long time. Her name was Adelaide and she was born in 1290. I can’t even imagine. She had been waiting over 500 years! I was so excited to do this name. And here’s another thing, a sister I was going with, she accidentally grabbed a name card that didn’t have their Initiatories done. So therefore that name wasn’t ready. But I had a strike of inspiration. Adelaide had a sister who was born three years later than her. Mathilde. I hurried and got the other name out of my locker and gave it to this sister missionary. And I’m just going to say, through the session I can just feel the joy coming from those two sisters somewhere in the room. I felt that they were so happy to have their work done, together nonetheless. I like to think it wasn’t a coincidence that the other name wasn’t ready. This way God can still show his tender mercies and love to those even in the other side of the veil.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed that little tidbit. It was kind of a special moment and I thought it’d be a fun story for all of you to read. I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as I did!
