Squirrels!

Harold is not a rat. Found a pile of acorns in the corner of the laundry room. Don't think rats do that. And I think we found how he gets in. On the door there's a rubber thing that's supposed to seal it off, but a side of it has a hole. We're hoping to get it replaced soon before Harold could gather the acorns again and stache them in the laundry room. And yes, the acorns pretty much confirmed his existence, so he is getting evicted. He can live in the tree right outside our balcony instead.  Most everyone in the district caught some kind of bug. Its nothing major enough to justify not working but it's enough to make everyone miserable. Sister Martinsen got sick the first part of the week and I did the second. I tried to say hi to the Elders in the parking lot on sunday and it sounded like a demon or something was stuck in my throat. Yeah it wasn't great. Being sick on a mission is terrible I've decided.  Well, we had another couple of lessons with William ...

This Week's Been A Doozey

So, I have a couple of random things to get out of the way. Someone gave me a pair of snow boots. Why they had snow boots in Southern California I have no idea, but they said they weren't going to use them and basically told me they're mine now. I have no clue what I should do with them. Mail them home? Also, I named the rat in the laundry room Harold. We have an agreement, that if he makes sure I'm never 100% sure he exists, he's fine. He's been doing a good job of not being seen. May have to ask the Housing Coordinators about it next time they come by though. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but we have two people on date for baptism! It's a father and a son named William and Anthony. We had a fantastic lesson with them on thursday. We talked about the commandments, and they loved it! Usually teaching the commandments is daunting because some people take it as a list of what not to do and they seem to not register the blessings that come with it. B...

New Comp, Same Area

Well everyone, I have survived transfers. I mostly just waited for Sister Martinsen to get here. Amazing, I know.  She's so great though. We get along nicely. We got to know each other a bit on thursday and we're both excited. It's kind of fun how there's a different dynamic now. Different for each companion huh? So far yes. I kind of like it.  And Grandma, she likes the horses. Enough to work with them every week so no worries there. We had fun cleaning out stalls and grooming the horses again this week. It's hot and sweaty work but it feels productive.  We met a new friend! We got a referral just before transfers and we got to meet him on Friday. He visited his brother who lives in Georgia, who introduced him to the missionaries there, and he loved it. He seems cool so far, so we'll see how this goes.  So, we've also done some more Chalking! A bunch of them actually. Trying to branch out the content of such things, so we did a diagram and a quote instead o...

I'm Staying Here!

Image
We think there may be a rat in our laundry room. Last week on Preparation Day we let the other sisters in our district use our washer and dryer because they don't have one. Sister Stanger said there were pellet like things on the floor, and that It might be a rat. Looked closely at it, and it ain't dirt. So maybe a mouse or a rat. Idk what to do about him. Anywhoo, after that introduction, we've had a good week. We got to teach some new friends! It's a father and a son. William and Anthony. They live in our area, so the sisters passed them off to us. They are great! William is very motivated and detailed in his study, and Anthony is breezing through! They've come to church for 4 weeks in a row! Amazing! We had a great lesson with them.  And yes, we worked with the horses at Ride On on Friday. We usually do from 2-4. It's really routine work. Make sure stalls are clean and get then make sure the horses are ready for their lessons. The horse I've got pictures ...

Email Number Lost Count

Hehe I'm still here. In newbury. Writing an email on my notes before I copy and paste it into email, on the fold-up table I'm calling my desk. With the sea-shell I found at Neptune's Net on the stairway down to the sand. We didn't go all the way down, because I'm an obedient missionary, but I saw it and snatched it up. It's mine now. And It's on my desk.  Thursday was interesting. A good day. Had Zone Conference and it went well. Mom sent me some new dresses and they are awesome! They've got pockets! And also some rubber chickens I can fling at people. Two got stuck on the ceiling for two days. We also won the golden plates! Cleanest car in Newbury! Everyone who doubted me can now go repent, because I can keep a car clean.  We worked with the horses again! I know some of you are excited about that. Really much of what we do there is the same. Muck stalls and get the horses ready for lessons. But this time we also got to feed them. And when they saw the c...
