Still In Newbury

Image
I'm still alive. Exciting news this week here in the great California Ventura Mission. I'll just get started.   So, me and Sister Taylor have additional callings now! We are the zone Tech reps and on the Interactions team for the mission facebook page! Basically facebook. That's all I have to say about it so far. Desk stuff for an additional hour a day. Luckily, while we do that it makes less time for tracting!  I made banana bread muffins! Kind of random, but I had a picture of one so you get to hear about them. We had browning bananas so during preparation day we bought some flour and we had the rest. Baked them on thursday night. They were a hit between us at least. We finished more than half of them the first day! Then Rose gave us a gallon bag of chocolate chip cookies so, we are living on refined sugar I guess. XD We had a baptism! Our friend Ash was baptized on Friday evening. It was really special! He had some friends in the ward and his Dad baptized him. It was s...

Hi. I've Got Good News! And Bad. Such Is Life.

So, hi. Still not dead. Still in California. Still here and getting sick of wearing skirts and slacks. I miss sweatpants and large t-shirts.  Anyhow, we've had quite the week. We didn't go on a hike for preparation day this week. We goofed around at the park instead. Played Pictionary with chalk. However, since there's a time limit my art skills did not matter at all. We were supposed to give them a general idea and they guess it before the other team does. It was fun, even though the cement on the basketball court is now a rainbow of randomness.  We helped a lady named Maria shred paper at her house. And yesterday we helped her clean off her porch. We were stopping by a friend's house and they told us she could use some help. She's a very nice lady and enjoys the company. We helped a man named Robert clean up his backyard. We pulled up weeds and got his garden plots ready for planting, which we will help him with soon. I caught a Giant lizard in the middle of it. H...

Hi

Once again I get to let you all know I'm still alive. Woohoo! So here's an update. I'm trying to do this thing so that I'll update you on my previous P-day, so that I can just send this out early on wednesday and then not worry about it. So, onward! We went on another hike. This one is on a trail called Cistern Trail. There's two main parts to it. The first part went to a lake. A small one but it was pretty. Some of the locals were fishing there. They caught a couple of small ones that day I heard. Elder Sutherland caught a lizard and held it half the hike. Named it Timohthy. We also went to a small creek where there was a lot of baby frogs! Mom said she likes those better than the salamanders for some reason.  Dad said some of you will like this part. So the second part of the hike went to a filming spot for the show M*A*S*H. There was a whole bunch of rusted vehicles and a couple of plaques with pictures explaining the history. I haven't watched it but one of ...

Very Bad Donkey

Well hello Everyone. Thank you for the emails I've been getting! I really appreciate it. Although I may not respond to them I Love reading them. It truly makes my day so thank you.  The night after I finished my last email, we'll, the next day didn't go so great. We wanted to try this taco place after our hike called Bad Donkey Tacos (the word wasn't donkey. The other one). We just heard it was good so we tried it. It was delicious but the night after, everyone in my district got food poisoning. Spent the whole night on the toilet. I think that might have been God telling us to quit eating at places that have a curse word on the door. So, no more Bad Donkey Tacos for us we decided.  In mine and Sister Taylor's appartment our power went out the whole day. Luckily our food was still good by the end of it but I guess that thursday just wasn't a day of luck. Then Sister Taylor got put in Facebook jail. The cherry on the sundae. She couldn't message anyone for a ...
