I Got A New Assignment!

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Sorry I didn’t send this yesterday. We went on a hike at Zion and while it was absolutely beautiful as always, it wore me out. My knee was not happy by the end of it. On a good note, I got a picture of a buck with strangely shaped antlers! So as the title of this email suggests, I have a new assignment. I tried it this week and I like it so far. I’ve also got some other things me and my companion were discussing that might be good food for thought. So let’s get into it and let me know what you think!  The Utah Food Bank!  The Utah Food Bank now has a station in hurricane, which we are pretty excited about. I’m excited because I don’t have to drive to St. George for this assignment! It’s also a pretty simple assignment too which is nice. What I did was show people around the little main space and told them what they could take. How it works is the people get a sign saying how big their family is, Small, Medium and Large. Based on t...

Still Here!

It’s strange to think that a year ish ago, I had my 21st birthday in California and was with my 2nd companion, Sister Martinsen. Well, she’s now Sister Jackson and I’m now 22. That’s weird. Time truly does fly doesn’t it? Since I did a poem/song thing last year, I’ll do one this year too.  Happy birthday to Me, Reece is my baby, I’m Still a missionary, Come follow Christ with me! Hope y'all like that one, because I’m not doing another! Because on Sunday I’ll be 16 months out and by this time next year I’ll likely be doing something else.  STL struggles It’s harder than I initially thought. I think it may be because Sister Amy made it look easy. I don’t know how she did it but she managed to get all five of us on a call to do comp study most days of the week and I’m struggling with two companions! Still waiting for those secret STL perks to manifest themselves but so far they still aren’t here. Oh well, as long as I’m trying my best the Lord will be okay with that. M...

I Got Promoted!

Hey everyone! I hope things are going well. School is starting this week. I’m sure some of you parents are excited for that. I know it’ll give my little brothers something productive to do. I didn’t like school when I was in it but it was better for me than being a lump on the couch. I have some news this week so brace yourselves I guess.  Another companion has died Sister Amy, my dear companion, had decided after much thought and prayer to end her mission early and go to school. She was a truly valiant one and she worked hard. I’m glad I was able to be her companion for this time. She was the STL though and encouraged all of us to actually do our comp study. Whoever’s next has some big shoes to fill. Speaking of which… So, I’m an STL now You know, some people think that if you get an extra calling on top of being a missionary it makes you special but really so far it doesn’t feel any different. This afternoon I got a call from my mission leaders saying that they’d like me to be th...

Trust In The Lord

Well, hi everyone! I have no clue what I’m going to write about since I ran out of assignments to describe to all of you. I’m just writing this and seeing where it takes me.  School’s Starting Soon!  Much to the distain of my brothers and my primary class, school is starting next week. At least I think it’s next week. I haven’t been in school for a couple of years now so go easy on me.  This means things at the Institute will be much more busy. There’s an institute class for just service missionaries that was on Thursdays while school was in session. I believe they’re starting that up again but we’ll see if I can go since my temple shift obviously takes priority. Guess we’ll see.  I Lost a Companion!  As of today, my companion Sister Bistline has died. Okay, for everyone who doesn’t know, when you’re released from your mission you’re ‘dead’ as they say. Some missionaries do a funeral and everything and it’s rather silly. Her ‘homecoming’ isn’t until the 11th but...
