6 Weeks Left!

Image
Howdy! Welcome back to my weekly email! I’m trying to live the rest of my mission to the fullest because my ‘death’ date is precisely six weeks from now. Part of that is that I’m trying to finish the Book of Mormon by Christmas and highlighting everything that tells me something about our savior. Think of it as his Christmas gift. It was a challenge given to us by our mission president and I’ve been really liking it so far. It’s about six pages a day until the end of the year. Well, I tend to read it in more like 15 page chunks every few days but it’s something. Compliments from the chef!  Just a funny little tidbit here I guess. After we were done with some things at the soup kitchen, there wasn’t anything for me to do. As a Sister, they don’t want me taking names since I’m the past there’s been some creepos. And we had servers already dishing people up so I was sitting there for a while. I don’t typically like to be on my phone during assignments so I got out my sketchbook and...

Owl City Has A Song About Jesus

Seriously. They do. In Sacrament today it was mentioned and some of the lyrics were recited. I’d encourage you all to give it a listen if you can. It’s called “In Christ Alone” by Owl City. I listened to it a lot on my mission and it definitely brings the spirit. It definitely got me through tough times.  I officiated an Endowment Session!  I was asked by my shift coordinator if I’d officiate this week and I agreed. I had done it once before but it had been before they changed the presentation. I can now say I’ve done it twice! It’s always nice to listen to the endowment session even if I’m not going through for someone. Also, kudos to my neighbors for being in that session! It was fun seeing them there.  I think it’s miraculous how I’ve started to memorize different things. Bits of the Initiatories, the words you say at the veil and also the new name I’ve memorized even though I thought I would never be able to. It’s marvelous and a blessing to me honestly. There are so...

I’ve Got Exactly 8 Of These Left…

Image
Mom told me when she reminded me to write this that I’ve only got like 8 left and it turns out she’s right. In 8 weeks it will be November 10th. Or otherwise known as the day of my release. I remember in my proselyting mission I had a countdown comparing how many days it’s been since I left and how many days I had left. I don’t have that countdown anymore but it’s crazy to think that large number that was in front of me is now behind. Guess this means if a few weeks I should start planning my funeral. Combined Birthday dinner for Me and Mom We went to Sakura for both of our birthdays. I know mine was last month but me and mom were chatting and we thought if we wanted to do something nice our birthdays are close enough to get away with sharing. Hers is next week FYI so be sure to wish her a happy birthday! She won’t let me forget so I’m not letting you all either.  Anyways, we got some nice food and they even gave us a slice of cheesecake with a flower candle on top of it. After th...

Stake Conference!!

Image
Hi everyone! I hope you’ve had a fantastic week this week and that it has been filled with blessings. I know it’s been a good one for me. Stake conference was fantastic! One of my primary kids spoke and it was wholesome! Great job Meg! And it was also fantastic to hear from my temple president and his wife. I love everyone who serves there and I love serving there myself. I’m hoping to continue serving there but I’ll see what happens with my knee and all in a couple of months. And yes, it’s only a couple of months. Crazy.  I also want to thank everyone who emails me once in a while. I really appreciate it even though I’m terrible at responding to them. It makes me feel like there’s people who look up to me and what an honor that is.  Labor Day!!  I honestly didn’t do a whole lot since one of my assignments were closed. It was refreshing to spend some time at home though. Also, I just want to mention that William and Anthony were baptized a year ago from that day! Happy 1...

Happy Labor Day!!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. It’s Labor Day weekend and I know at least some of you are off having adventures somewhere. If so, I hope you’re having fun!  I’m sure you’ve heard that President Nielson’s birthday is coming soon. I’m super excited for it honestly. They’re having a broadcast and everything! I’m going to have to make something for the occasion since I did last year. I made Birthday Fajitas last year for me and my comp. Since I’m going to be here at home I can make a dessert? Either way it’s going to be fun!  Soup kitchen sugar rush Since I have a picture of the cookies I made at the soup kitchen, I’ll give yall some context. Our manager lady wants us to do something nice for the people who make the food so we made sugar cookies that Sister Meidell found off the internet. The thing is though, it seems that Elders don’t know how to bake. The frosting we made turned out salty because one of them added a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon. It wasn’t the wo...
